NEUROINCLUSIVE

We are dedicated to being neuroinclusive by recognizing and honoring the diverse neurological needs of every individual. Our services are rooted in the understanding that every brain functions uniquely, and we tailor our evaluations and interventions to meet each person where they are. By focusing on strengths and offering trauma-informed, personalized support, we ensure that every person feels valued, understood, and empowered to thrive in their own way.

Why Us?

We combine a whole-child, neurobiological approach with practical, visual insights. Unlike standard assessments, we:

Whole-Person, Neurobiological Approach

We use a neurodevelopmentally informed framework to look at each child as a whole, rather than isolating issues. This approach helps us see how brain development affects their learning, behavior, and emotional regulation in a way that standard assessments might miss.

Functional Brain Mapping

Our evaluations include a functional brain map that provides a visual representation of a child’s current level of functioning across different brain regions. This map helps families, educators, and clinicians understand the "when, where, and how" of a child’s support needs.

Sequential, Targeted Interventions

By sequencing interventions based on brain development, we can create a customized plan that prioritizes the right support at the right time, helping children develop core strengths step by step. This differs from more generalized approaches, making each intervention more effective and tailored.

Focus on Family and Community

Recognizing the role of family and community, our evaluations are designed to bridge communication gaps between families, educators, and other providers. We strive to create a unified, supportive network around each child.

Evidence-Based and Evidence-Generating

Our approach not only builds on current neurodevelopmental science but also contributes to it. By integrating real-world insights into each evaluation, we are constantly refining our methods, allowing us to be responsive to the evolving needs of the families and communities we serve.

Over the past decade, the Neurosequential Model (NM) has evolved into a series of interconnected programs that provide innovative ways to understand and support neurodevelopment in diverse settings. At NestEd Center for Development, our providers are certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), Neurosequential Model in Education (NME), Neurosequential Model for Early Childhood (NME), Neurosequential Model in Reflection & Supervision (NMRS), and Neurosequential Model in Caregiving (NMC). NMT, in particular, is widely recognized as one of the most transformative approaches for understanding how trauma impacts the developing brain.

What sets NMT apart is its dual role as both an 'evidence-based' and 'evidence-generating' approach, making it adaptable and relevant across various fields. From early childhood programs and mental health settings to educational and juvenile justice environments, NMT guides us in meeting each child's unique neurodevelopmental needs.

NMT is not a specific therapy but a developmentally informed, neurobiologically grounded framework. By integrating core principles of brain development, it allows us to construct a complete picture of each child’s developmental history and current brain functioning. This, in turn, helps us create thoughtful, targeted intervention plans that are responsive to the child, their family, and their community.

Why We Use The Neurosequential Model

We love what we do. Let’s build a map.
